White Rock City Orchestra Society

As a non-profit charity, we rely on financial support to function and to put on our bi-annual music programs. Our musicians come from very diverse backgrounds but as a Society all positions (except our professional Music Director) are non-salaried.

We are proud to have players of all ages, of diverse race, religion, beliefs, orientation and gender. Essentially the members of our orchestra commit and volunteer huge amounts of their time to practice , rehearse and make the most wonderful music in concert. We operate in a nurturing environment where musicians not only develop their skills, but also mentor others, expand their experience, confidence and education.

Every dollar that comes into our organization is spent on our commitment to musical excellence and serving our audience and community in the South Surrey , White Rock and surrounding areas. Our concerts typically sell out.

Whilst we put on concerts for the public, we are particularly proud of our historic outreach to audiences for whom music is not normally accessible. We have played for many seniors in care homes and for those who are hospital bound. We continue to explore opportunities to bring music to all because of its great healing power.

We are advocates for the performing arts in our community and collaborate with local artists including dancers, soloists, musical ensembles and other organizations to bring vibrance to our shows.

We believe that music connects us together as a wonderful shared human experience. Donations, grants and our own fundraising activities are our lifeblood and we could not operate or exist without them. We acknowledge support for all our kind and generous sponsors!
