Surrey City Orchestra

To provide quality concerts in the community, to schools, and to underserved people, that will promote the well-being of Surrey residents. All of our musicians are professionally trained by world-class teachers from world-class universities such as The Juilliard School of Music, and most teach in schools, and privately, starting from the very young, to senior adults. Donations will be used to fund innovative concerts that will partner with other local arts groups to highlight Surrey’s diverse culture. Recently the orchestra performed our version of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker ballet with 4 local dance groups, and the Surrey Children’s Choir, and have featured South Asian musicians, and up and coming artists at our Bell Centre concert. Concerts we are planning are The Best of Bollywood, a rock tribute concert, and a partnership with the Trinity Western choirs, as well as the Nutcracker ballet once again. Also in the works, is a concert called Orchestra Powwow featuring Cris Derksen, and other Indigenous artists. Typically, in North America, donations make up more than one third of orchestra budgets. If you have a passion for music, we are also seeking new Board Members!
