The Smart and Caring Surrey Community Fund addresses a broad range of local needs – including future needs that often cannot be anticipated at the time a gift is made.

The flexibility of your unrestricted gift enables our Foundation to respond to the community’s most pressing needs, and opportunities today and tomorrow.

The fund was renamed in 2017 as part of a national movement to strengthen the Smart and Caring network in anticipation of the 150th Anniversary of Confederation.  The campaign championed by Community Foundations of Canada's patron, Governor General David Johnston set out to establish flexible funds that inspire change from the ground up with a view to making our communities better places to live, work and play. 

The Smart and Caring Surrey Community Fund encompasses the Community Fund (created by the SCCF Board) and the Surrey Foundation Directors and Friends Fund.  To date, the fund has granted to a variety of organizations including:

  • Food Bank on Wheels

  • Fraser Valley Gilbert and Sullivan Society

  • Junior Achievement of BC

  • LOVE (Leave Out Violence) Organization

  • Mamas for Mamas

  • Moving Forward Family Services

  • Muslim Food Bank and Community Services

  • Paws for Hope Animal Foundation

  • Quest Outreach Society

  • Realistic Success Recovery Society

  • Surrey Christmas Bureau

  • Volunteer Cancer Drivers
