Rupinder is an accounting, risk, compliance leader who is currently the Director, Strategy at First West Credit Union, BC’s third largest credit union. In her current role, she is co-leading a key organization-wide project on the road to becoming a federal credit union.

Rupinder earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Accounting from Simon Fraser University in 2003 and went on to obtain her CPA designation in 2007 while working in KPMG LLP’s audit practice. She went on to obtain her FRM designation while working in Operational Risk at Canaccord Genuity and continued her life-long journey of learning by obtaining her CIA designation while working in Internal Audit at First West Credit Union.

Having been a resident of Surrey for 25 years, Rupinder has experienced many of her big life’s milestone’s in this city; graduating university, getting married and giving birth to her two daughters. The odd times Rupinder has any free time, she’s usually playing some sport, hiking along a trail or mountain, or discovering a new eatery in the city.
