Director
Nav Chima is the Director, Community Programs & Partnerships at Simon Fraser University’s Surrey Campus.
He has been with university for the past 20 years supporting and developing campus-community partnerships with business, government and community-serving agencies south of the Fraser, amongst which are, Surrey Schools, Fraser Health, The City of Surrey, The Surrey Urban Indigenous Leadership Committee,The Surrey Board of Trade, and many of the regions not-for-profit organizations supporting youth programs, newcomer settlement and Indigenous communities.
Since 2006, he has also been a member of the university's President’s India Advisory Council which supports and promotes engagements with the local South Asian community. Nav currently serves on the City of Surrey’s Social Equity & Diversity Committee, and since emigrating from the UK in 1994, he, his wife and two children have been proud to call Surrey their home - a place where they live, work, study and play! When it comes to the outdoors, he is an avid runner, sports enthusiast and world traveler.
