Manjit Panghali Memorial Fund

In March 2007, North Ridge Elementary School established
“Manjit Panghali Memorial Fund” to provide an annual scholarship to a graduating student who attended North Ridge.
The scholarship fund was created in memory of Manjit Panghali, a Surrey School District teacher whose life tragically ended in October 2006. The memorial fund was initiated by Carolyn Convey, a colleague who taught a Grade 1 class with Manjit at North Ridge Elementary.
“Manjit’s family has been overwhelmed by the love and support we have received from the students, staff, and parents of North Ridge Elementary,” says Manjit’s sister and family spokesperson Jasmin Bhambra. “Thanks to Carolyn Convey and the Surrey Foundation*, Manjit’s memory will always be honoured and her love of teaching and children will continue to live on through this scholarship fund.”
