Mr Hamidullah Abawi holds bachelor’s degree of Arts in International Studies, International Relations Track from American University in Dubai, UAE.
While being a part-time Fund Development Manager at Surreycares Community Foundation, he is also currently the Afghanistan Country Representative with Street Child UK and manages multiple multimillion dollar humanitarian programmes across Afghanistan leading a large team. He is also volunteering as the Director of Philanthropy for Global Rights Defenders focusing on the global refugees crisis. Mr Abawi worked with the Ministry of Education of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan as Senior Advisor to the Minister of Education (Education Cluster Chairperson and was responsible for the humanitarian response of the Ministry of Education). He also worked in the capacity of Public Relations and Communications Coordinator, Global Partnership for Education in the Ministry of Education. He also has vast experience in Program and Project Management with National NGOs based in Afghanistan. Mr Abawi has been a member of the Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) in Afghanistan and represented the INGOs and NGOs in high level consultation and advocacy meetings and was a high level panel member speak in the Third International Safe Schools Conference, representing Afghanistan and highlighting his commitments towards safety of children in schools.
