You typed in www.surreyfoundation.org, and suddenly wound up here? No, you’re not dreaming. Yes, everything is working as it should.
What has happened is you landed in the middle of a website do-over that had to be accelerated before everything was ready. We’ll spare you the tech talk on how that happened. Let’s just put it this way: the communications team leader goofed, thinking we had more time than we did. Say no more. (She hangs her head in shame.) (Disclosure: She’s also the one writing this page.)
Just rest assured that the Surrey Foundation is still doing well, we are still preparing for a new granting cycle for 2013, we are still managing funds on behalf of families, individuals, groups, and agencies, and we are very excited about some major projects that either have recently completed (our new brand, SurreyCares, for one), and are coming up (social media workshops, grants* to give out, other good stuff).
This surreycares.org site was originally set up to give us a blog, and now it’s serving as an interim website until the fresh new look is ready to launch.
If you are interested in seeing our sandbox site take shape “live,” and are prepared to step over the scattered nails lying on the floor, duck to avoid bumping your head on a beam, watch out for broken links (they’ll be everywhere for a while), or be surprised as colours change three times in two days, come take a look at www.sryfdn.surreycares.org. We promise, it’s really ugly. We’ve barely put the shovel to the earth yet. But it won’t stay that way forever. And it might be fun to watch!
OK, maybe not. You’re welcome if you like, but don’t feel obligated.
If you’re friendly, we might even open up comments so you can tell us what you think as it evolves. Maybe. (Think we should?)
Thanks for your patience!
Erin Anne BeirneCommunications Chair,
Board Member, SurreyCares (Surrey Foundation)
